The effects of a timing belt's failure can be quite serious – it can break an engine! A bad V-belt could run out of charge or blow the cooling system temperature meter. It is for this reason, that we base all our operations, from raw materials point to the point of final packaging and packing on one principle alone: Quality Zero Defect, for each exporting grade belt. During more than 26 years development, from a small Huayu Rubber Belt Factory to the current Xingtai Guanpin Rubber Products Co. Ltd., we always adhere to the international standards which are the biggest challenge we have set ourselves.
Incoming Material Screening – The Foundation of Reliability
The quality begins from an initial point: The first drop of a compound in the mixture! There is strict incoming inspection of every shipment of chloroprene rubber, EPDM, high strength fiber cord as well as heat resistant fabric. Tensile strength, elongation, hardness and heat aging resistance are tested on every batch at our lab. Glass cord and aramid cord that is used to make timing belts; We evaluate them in terms of adhesion and load fatigue conditions. It needs to be submitted for production after meeting our in-house “export grade” criteria, which, in general, is more stringent than that of the industry. Safe raw material input to our workshop - This is gatekeeping in that no substandard raw material comes in to our workshop - to protect our process and because it's for the benefit of your engine.
In-Process Dynamic Monitoring – Catching Variations Early
Manual spot monitoring conducted at critical points, and Guanpin's sensors placed at various critical control points during the mixing and calendering/extrusion process; and during the cutting process. The temperature and viscosity of our compounds as well as the cure rate are constantly checked by our operators. Every 15 minutes, a laser micrometer is used to check the angle, height and rib pitch of all V-belts and multi ribbed belts. To ensure proper profile of a timing belt’s teeth, optical comparators are utilized. Adjustments at once if any of the deviations are more than 0.1 mm. It's the progressive practice which reduces waste and produces belts conforming to the agreed dimensional requirement with our customers.
Finished Belt Testing – Simulating Real-World Extremes
All belts are subjected to rigorous conditions prior to leaving our factory to ensure they undergo realistic conditions of use. Each production lot is sampled and the samples are:
Pulley rig dynamic fatigue testing of 200+ hours.
It is necessary to test the heat resistance when the product is heated at 100-120°C and humidity conditions 20-60%.
Oil resistance & ozone resistance test according to ISO 1817 & ISO 1431.
The timing belt line of tests includes tooth shear strength and power requirements in the event of sudden loads applied (dynamic tooth jump). An export grade certificate is issued when the samples have greater than 95% recovery of tensile strength through the test cycle. The quality of the belt is laboratory tested, and belts not selected for the capabilities that your customers expect are not packaged—ensuring the durability that they are paying for.
Traceability, Packaging & Final Audit – Your Brand, Our Care
Guanpin's quality assurance extends to the smallest detail, down to the end delivery package. Every Belt is Laser Denominated with a Batch code that references the Lot of the raw materials used, the shift during which the Belt is manufactured and the Test performed, all of which are fully traceable in the event of any further queries! Before packaging, products are subjected to a 100% visual inspection to ensure the surface is defect free, print is excellent and the flash is clear in the product. When you choose the customer authorised Logo or custom colors for your packaging your Logo(s), packaging labels, carton marking are made exactly the same. Finished packaging is inspected to check for burst pressure, seal integrity packing seams and seal moisture barrier by random audits. Then, we ship you your Certificate of Analysis, we promise you, not only an export quality belt, but your private labeled Guanpin Belt will be yours to keep until you need to replace it and we promise you there will be no complaints.
We don't treat quality control as a cost, it's our reputation.
